Valentine's Day Bling Keepsakes!

Want to save money, make cherished keepsakes and add some Valentine's Day bling to your home?  Here's a simple and fun project we did with salt dough. You can string ornaments as garland or make individual ornaments. Super fun and easy.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1 cup cold water
MIX: In a large bowl, mix table salt and flour together. Gradually add 1/2 cup of water and mix to desired consistency. Knead the dough on a flat surface, adding a few more drops of water as needed (but not making it too moist).
CUT: Use festive cookie cutters to cut out your shapes. Separate and put on cookie sheet.
IMPORTANT: Poke holes in each ornament with a toothpick (so you have a hole to put string through).
BAKE OR DRY: You can either air dry them for a couple of days or bake them at 200 in your oven (turning them over a few times). I'm impatient, so I baked them.
Make sure they are completely dry before painting. I think ours took about 4-5 hours to bake dry.
PAINT: We used acrylic paint and some glitter.  Once they are dry, you can spray them or paint them with a sealer if you like (just an extra step if you want to keep in great shape for years).
